Race Regulations


1.Organization

2. Race Schedule

Stage 1 (April 15): cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex – Lingao High-Speed Railway Station (73km)

Stage 2 (April 16): Danzhou Yangpu Costal Cultural Square – Baisha Jiujialing (118km)

Stage 3 (April 17): Wuzhishan Youth Center – Atuoling (79km)

Stage 4 (April 18): Lingshui Hainan Ocean Paradise Resort – Baoting Moon Leisure Square (74km)

Stage 5 (April 19): Baoting Moon Leisure Square – Sanya Yucai (100km)


3. Race Format

(1) Type of Race

Road Race

(2) Age Groups

Men's Junior (14-17 years old)

Men's Elite (18-34 years old); Women's Elite (14-34 years old)

Men's Open (35-44 years old); Women's Open (35+ years old)

Men's Masters (45+ years old)

Note: Age is calculated as of April 14, 2026 (inclusive).


4. Race Rules

(1) The latest version of the "Cycling Race Rules" approved by the Chinese Cycling Association will be followed.

(2) Electronic timing will be the primary method, supplemented by manual timing.

(3) Time Limit: Subject to the "Supplementary Notices" issued before each stage or announcements made by the Commissaires on race day.

(4) Equipment

①Participants must provide their own bicycles, clothing, equipment, etc., which must meet the race rules to be eligible. Helmets must be worn throughout the race; failure to do so will result in disqualification.

②Besides road bikes, mountain bikes are permitted in this race. Mountain bikes must start from the last position behind all other participants. All participating bikes must conform to the standards stipulated in the "Cycling Race Rules".

③Participants are prohibited from using TT (Time Trial) bikes, triathlon bikes, shared bikes, recumbent bikes, fixed-gear bikes, e-bikes, and slick tires.

④Athletes and their bikes must display the race number bib and frame plate uniformly distributed by the Organizing Committee. The numbers on the bib and frame plate must match. Do not cut or alter the bibs/frame plates; otherwise, participation will be denied. The Organizing Committee will provide instructions for installing and wearing timing chips, number plates, and bibs during registration. If athletes fail to comply during check-in, corrections must be made immediately; otherwise, the Commissaires have the right to disqualify the athlete.

⑤Participants' equipment must comply with the regulations. After the race, Commissaires have the right to re-inspect athletes' equipment. If violations are found, the athlete may be penalized or disqualified.


5. Participation Requirements

(1) The race is open to amateur cyclists who engage in long-term physical exercise and are in good health, regardless of nationality or domicile.

(2) Entries can be submitted collectively as a team (club, city/county, association, school, enterprise/institution, etc.) or individually.

(3) All current professional cyclists (including registered riders in Greater China: Mainland, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan; and other countries: UCI-registered riders, members of teams participating in continental races or higher levels), and retired riders (those retired for less than 2 consecutive years) are not eligible to register.

(4) Athletes exceeding the age limit may apply to the Organizing Committee by submitting relevant documents such as a health certificate and proof of previous race results. Minors must also provide parental consent. Registration is permitted only upon review and approval by the Organizing Committee.

(5) The Organizing Committee will purchase personal accident insurance for each participant covering the race day only. This insurance does not cover risks occurring outside the race period or venue, such as cycling to/from the venue, cycling around the venue, test rides, warm-ups, etc. Participants requiring additional coverage should purchase their own supplementary insurance.

(6) Participants are responsible for their own transportation, accommodation, and meal expenses.


6. Instructions for Participants

(1) Participants pledge to abide by all race rules and voluntarily assume all associated risks, losses, or injuries arising therefrom.

(2) Participants fully understand and acknowledge the potential risks of the race, which may arise from themselves, others, equipment, venue, course conditions, etc.

(3) Participants who voluntarily or involuntarily abandon the race must leave the course immediately and return or proceed to the finish line by their own means. Travel arrangements made independently to return or reach the finish line are not covered by race support services.

(4) Participants voluntarily waive the right to claim compensation or file lawsuits against the race hosts, organizers, co-organizers, sponsors, etc., for any losses or injuries occurring during the race. This includes, but is not limited to, lack of endurance, strength, skill, experience, improper actions of others, collisions, equipment failure, etc.

(5) In the race that the race is postponed, delayed, or canceled due to force majeure factors such as weather conditions or policy adjustments, the Organizing Committee shall not be liable for any costs or responsibilities incurred by participants as a result.

(6) All participants must maintain environmental hygiene. Littering or damaging the environment will result in penalties.


7. Rankings and Awards

(1) The race offers Individual Stage Prizes and a General Individual Classification Prize for each group, as well as a General Team Classification Prize. Please refer to the appendix "Prize Table" for details. The General Individual Classification Prize is based on the sum of an individual's points across all five stages. Participants who do not complete all five stages are not eligible for the General Classification ranking. The rankings for the General Individual Classification Prize and the General Team Classification Prize are not divided by group. In the race of a tie in points, the tied participants will equally share the total prize money designated for the tied positions. For example, if the top three positions in the General Individual Classification are tied, the three participants will equally share the total prize money for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.The total team points shall be calculated as the sum of the points earned by its top 50 individual riders.

(2) Top three finishers in all groups MUST attend the respective stage's award ceremony and arrive at the designated waiting area 15 minutes prior. Failure to appear after three calls by the ceremony host may result in forfeiture of all awards by the Organizing Committee.

(3) All finishers of each stage will receive an electronic results certificate.

(4) This edition of the race also features a "Best Recruitment Award" and a "Best Promotion Award".

①The Best Recruitment Award will reward the top 20 teams based on the number of registered team members. The Best Promotion Award will provide various rewards based on criteria such as video likes 、view counts and reposts, on TikTok (Chinese version) or Weibo. (Refer to the "2026 Round Hainan Cycling Challenge 'Best Promotion Award' Plan" for details.)

②The Best Recruitment Award shall be ranked based on the actual number of Check-in team members. In the event of a tie in the number of registered team members, the tied teams shall equally share the total prize money corresponding to the tied rank and the subsequent applicable ranks.

Example: If the top three teams have the identical number of members, the three teams shall equally divide the total prize money for the first, second and third places.

③The Best Promotion Award shall first follow the corresponding prize criteria, and then be ranked in descending order based on the total number of likes, plays / views, and shares on the platform.

(5)The payment time for all awards will be announced separately. If this causes any concern, please consider carefully before participating. Prior to the distribution of awards, relevant information will be collected from all winning individuals or teams.


8. Registration and Sign-in

(1) Registration

①Online Registration

Individuals can register through the official mini-program "Sports Butler", the Ai Ben Wenlv registration platform, or platforms such as Yeitu, Blackbird, and Xoss. The minimum team size is 5 persons.

②Offline Registration

Special teams should download the race registration form, complete the registration information, and send it to the race email (418221296@qq.com). After verification by the Organizing Committee and payment of the fee, the registration process is complete.

③Registration Fee (Unit: RMB/person)

The registration fee for a single stage is RMB 268/person, and the fee for all five stages is RMB 1000/person.

Early bird discounted fee: RMB 200/person for a single stage, RMB 800/person for all five stages.

The entry fee for overseas participants is $45 per race, or $125 for all five stages.

Refund Policy: Withdrawals before March 15 will receive a full refund. Withdrawals from March 15 to March 31 will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued for withdrawals after March 31.

Note: Registration deadline is April 6.

④Fee Description

Fee Includes:Race pack, number bib, frame plate, finisher medal, electronic certificate, timing chip, luggage transfer (personal small luggage from stage start to finish), on-course refreshments, insurance, timing system, officiating Commissaires, emergency sweep vehicle, fully closed roads, medical support, etc.

⑤Eligibility Review

Registration requires a review of the participant's cycling ability. Successful registration is subject to approval by the Organizing Committee before participation is permitted.

Individual proof of cycling ability must meet one of the following criteria:

a. Previous race result certificate (including total distance and time, with an average speed of 25 km/h or above);

b. Cycling data from MyKin, Yeitu, Codoon, or other cycling software (demonstrating a non-stop 60 km ride at an average speed of 30 km/h).

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to review and deny registration to any participant or team whose speed does not meet the standard, or who has a history of, or potential for, causing adverse effects on the race's reputation.

(2) Sign-in

①Depending on the race schedule, participating teams or individuals must check in at the racecourse or assembly point on race day or the day prior. Detailed information will be provided in the "Supplementary Notice" for each stage.

②The race uses electronic timing. Athletes are required to pay a chip deposit of RMB 200 per chip (or RMB 1500 per team) upon sign-in. The deposit will be refunded after the chip is returned following the race. In case of loss, compensation of RMB 1200 per chip is required. Timing chips must be uniformly installed on the right front fork of the participating bicycle.

③All participants must submit a personally signed "Participant Waiver and Release of Liability Form" during sign-in.

④Upon receiving materials during sign-in, please inspect them on-site. If there are any errors, immediately report them to the staff. The organizing committee is not responsible for any issues once you leave the sign-in counter.

9. Protests

Protest Method and Procedure for Race Results: Participants who have objections to the race results must file a protest with the Commissaire within 30 minutes after the results are published. When filing a protest, a written protest request must be submitted, clearly stating the content of the protest, along with a protest deposit of RMB 500. If the protest is upheld, the deposit will be refunded in full; otherwise, the deposit will not be returned.


10.Technical Officials

The Commissaires shall be uniformly appointed by the Organizing Committee. The composition and scope of duties of the Commissaire Panel shall be implemented in accordance with the "Commissaire Panel Regulations".


11. The right of interpretation of these regulations belongs to the Organizing Committee. Matters not covered or subject to change will be notified separately.
